Speaker 1:

Hey, beautiful souls, welcome, welcome back, welcome back to the Sweet Spot where science meets soul. I'm Dr Sweet, dr Derek Sweet. I am your board certified sports and performance psychiatrist, and all week long, as you know, on the Sweet Spot, we've been devoting our time here to the exploration of pleasant words and the effect that pleasant words can have on our brain, our mind, our body. We've already seen, on Making Moves Monday, take Action Tuesday and Win it All Wednesday, how these words can come together and influence the secretion of all kinds of positive things in our brain and our body Things like dopamine and things like norepinephrine and BDNF, and even hormones in the body like cortisol. So there's a lot of good when we use our words correctly, and so we've been giving each day of the sweet spot a special poem.

Speaker 1:

So this is Trust Yourself Thursday, and I want to say this to you I'm just motivated to tell you, even when David, the shepherd boy who became king in ancient biblical wisdom, faced Goliath, all he had was a pebble, nothing but a little sling and a pebble. But you know what he had? A lot of trust, a lot of unshakable faith, faith in himself, faith in his God. A lot of unshakable faith, faith in himself, faith in his God and belief, and you know what? That's a perfect analogy for Trust Yourself, thursday, isn't it so? And speaking of ancient wisdom, the Proverbs tell us that we have to trust in the mystery that we call God with all of our heart and lean not to our own understanding, right? But you know, that same wisdom also reminds us that we are very fearfully and wonderfully made creatures. So today's poem is about that divine confidence that lives in you, that confidence that you can see greater is the thing in me than the thing in the world, whatever it is right. So here we go with the poem.

Speaker 1:

Remember, every day we're doing these poems. So here we go for trust yourself, thursday. This is what we got. Trust yourself, let wisdom rise. Power. It never lies Deep within your spirit. It knows how a champion story flows, built with greatness in your core, designed to soar and built for more. Trust yourself. When the pressure hits, watch how excellence still somehow fits. Thursday's truth begins to shine as your power, your divine power, realigns. Trusting self with sacred might, with sacred might. This is how you claim your light All right now? Wow, okay, beautiful souls, this is Thursday. It's your moment of truth. It's your time to trust that inner champion, the one inside of you that you've been cultivating through years and years of grinding and working hard. So, whether you're facing your own Goliath on the field, in the boardroom somewhere in life, remember, remember that you were built for this moment and remember to trust yourself, trust your purpose, trust the process and trust your God.

Speaker 1:
