Okay, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back to the sweet spot. This is Tuesday, but it's not just any Tuesday. This is Take Action Tuesday, the power of consistent action. We're going to be discussing that today in the context of the power of momentum. Remember, this week we're doing a full series on the power of momentum, so let's dive right in. I'm Dr Sweet and I'm looking forward to connecting with you on this.
Speaker 1:Listen, here's the thing when you think about momentum, it's not just about starting strong, it's about keeping the ball rolling. That's right. Momentum is about moving forward and having this energy that pushes you in a direction with a purpose. Think of it like a flywheel. If you've ever seen one, you know that the hardest part is giving it that initial push. But once that thing gets moving, it takes on a life of its own. Every little action you take is like another push. It's keeping that wheel spinning faster and faster, and you have to begin to appreciate that. Faster and faster. And you have to begin to appreciate that that it's the small pushes, the small actions that you take on this Take Action Tuesday that are going to get you that big result down the line.
Speaker 1:There's power in consistent action and here's the secret, the key to momentum is consistency. The key to momentum is consistency. That's often overlooked by athletes, it's overlooked by corporate executives, it's overlooked by a lot of folks, but that's so important. It's about showing up every single day and doing it over and over again, especially on the days when you don't feel like doing it, Even when it feels easier to stay in bed. Take the easy road and put it off until tomorrow. Take the easy road and put it off until tomorrow. That's when you force yourself to get up and take action. Small, consistent actions are what eventually creates really big results. Steve Jobs put it this way the only way to do great work is to love what you do. When you combine your consistency with the love for what you're doing, taking action feels less like work and more like purpose. You're not just going through the motions anymore. You're building something meaningful, step by step.
Speaker 1:Sometimes you have to take a moment and remember that you chose this. This is what you wanted to do. Now, roll your sleeves up, get consistent and take action. Take one action that moves you closer to your goal. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be done. You know, my wife had an incredible statement when I was going through medical school. She kept telling me, when I was being so perfectionistic, done is better than perfect. Progress beats perfection every time, and she was right. So your small step today is what's going to build the momentum for your tomorrow.
