Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop 5/7: Only Finishers Get the Crown #FinishStrongFriday
"Champions aren’t remembered for how they start. They’re remembered for how they finish."
Let’s be real. Anybody can start fast. Anybody can bring energy in the first quarter. The real test comes in the fourth, when the clock is ticking and your legs are heavy. That’s where champions are made.
Persistence is the warrior companion of determination. It’s what turns obstacles into stepping stones and setbacks into fuel. Talent might get you on the stage, but persistence and momentum are what keep you standing when others fold.
"Stopping at third adds no more to your score than striking out." – Billy Sunday ⚾
You don’t get points for almost. You don’t get credit for nearly. You only win when you cross the line.
"The marathon continues." – Nipsey Hussle 🏁
Nipsey taught us finishing is a mindset. You keep running, no matter what tries to slow you down. That’s how legacies are built.
Even science backs this up. Physics teaches us momentum never disappears — it transfers. When you finish strong today, that energy carries into your next goal, your next game, your next challenge.
High Performer Tip: Look at your week right now. What’s unfinished? A workout? A call? A project? Finish it today. Every finish builds confidence. Every finish builds momentum.
So let me ask you — where did you almost stop this week? What finish line do you need to cross today? Don’t settle for “almost.” Don’t leave it on the table.
Can’t stop, won’t stop. Say it with me: I finish what I start. Only finishers get the crown.
And tomorrow, tune in for Self-Care Saturday, where we’ll talk about why slowing down can actually make your momentum stronger.

What's up, champions? This is Dr Sweet. You've made it. You made it to finish strong Friday, on the sweet spot. We've been doing a whole series here this week on the power of momentum. We started on Monday with making moves and how momentum helped us make moves. On Tuesday, we talked about how momentum helped us take action. On Win it All, wednesday, we saw the connection between winning and momentum. And on Trust Yourself, thursday. Yesterday, we saw that trust was this invisible force that connected into momentum. Please listen to those podcasts if you missed them.
Speaker 1:Today, on Finish Strong Friday, we're going to connect the power of the finish with the power of momentum. Let's dive right into it. Look in the end of the week. This is where we have to remind ourselves, on Finish Strong Friday, that how you finish matters even more than how you start. Here's the real talk. Anyone can start strong. It's easy to kick off with energy and excitement. Most projects do Most teams start that way, do most teams start that way? But, as author Julian Smith said, it isn't the start that matters, it's the finish line that matters. The real test is who's still standing and who's still pushing when the journey gets tough, when, on that marathon, you've hit that 18th mile, when the momentum starts to slow. And that's why today, today is all about finishing what you started, absolutely. We are in Finish Strong Friday, my friends. So we are going to talk about how to finish strong.
Speaker 1:You see, persistence is another one. A persistent person knows how to build on momentum. It's not about talent, at the end of the day, it's not about genius. At the end of the day, nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not do it. Nothing more than being gritty, hard and relentless will do it. You've got to have those things in there. Genius won't do it. The world is full of educated people who don't get the job done. Persistence and determination those two alone, these two warriors alone, are omnipotent.
Speaker 1:When you combine your persistence with your determination, you are going to finish strong. You will push through, no matter what. You will keep going despite the roadblocks. The obstacle will become the way for you. You will create a force inside of you that will not stop. Do you know what that force is called? Of course you do, because you've been listening here on the Sweet Spot. We're covering that force right now. It's momentum, the power of momentum. When you push through, when you keep going, despite setbacks, you're creating a force that carries you forward. And that force, my friend, it's momentum.
Speaker 1:And momentum it isn't just about speed, it's about consistency. As we've said before, every small step you've taken, every tiny action you have made, every move that you have made, they all add up to a complete big picture. It helps you complete the journey. It's the commitment to keep moving, to keep persisting, to take one more step that turns your effort into a success, that gets you across the finish line. So don't give up now, don't stop now just because it's hard.
Speaker 1:Remember, yesterday we talked about trust, trusting that the grind right, trusting that the grind and the struggle has a purpose, will bring out character in you, will bring out more resolve and that, even if you can't see the results yet, you will persist until you succeed. That's from the book Armand Dino's the Greatest Salesman in the World. And here's a reminder Billy Sunday said it this way Stopping at third adds no more to your score in baseball than striking out. It doesn't matter how well you start, if you fail to finish, it's the finish that counts at the end of the day. So guess what? This is your moment to push through and to leave it all on the field. Don't let the week end with regret, wishing you had gone a little further, wishing that you had given it a little bit more of a push. As Derek Jeter said, the last thing you want to do is finish playing and wish you had worked harder.
Speaker 1:So on, finish Strong Friday, my friends, here's the challenge. Look back at this week, face whatever struggles or doubts you have had and use them for fuel. Any setback, obstacle or issue or problem you're facing, use it for fuel. Let that obstacle become the way. This is your chance to show yourself that you can trust in the work that you've put in, that you can trust in yourself to figure out a solution, that you will seek counsel or advice if you need it. You will do whatever you have to to finish what you started. Remember, no matter how fast you run, you can't be a winner if you don't finish. All right, this is Dr Sweet. Thank you for listening. Remember, the journey might be tough, but you're tougher. Okay, the momentum you built all week, this is what's got you here. To finish strong Friday. And finishing strong is epic. Let's make today epic and I'll see you tomorrow. Okay, I'll see you tomorrow for Self-Care, saturday We'll talk more about it. Love and blessings. Take care, thank you.
