Episode Title: What Will I Try Next?
Today’s question is where courage stops being an idea…
and starts becoming a practice.
Because trust doesn’t grow from perfection.
It grows from one tiny, shaky, brave attempt.
In this 3-minute Suite Spot reset, we break down why movement — even small movement — rewires your brain for confidence. You’ll hear how trying activates your dopamine system, how fear shrinks once you step into it, and how God meets you on the other side of your hesitation.
You’ll hear:
• why “trying” is a neurological confidence-builder
• how small steps silence the inner critic
• why God honors movement more than mastery
• how courage grows through repetition, not certainty
This episode helps you stop overthinking and start experimenting.
And tomorrow?
We step into Finish Strong Friday with the next breakthrough question:
“What am I avoiding?”
That one exposes the real roots.
If today gives you a spark, subscribe, share it, and tag someone who needs the confidence to try again.

Welcome To Trust Yourself Thursday
SPEAKER_00Okay now, you're doing it. You're doing it because you're here with me on Trust Yourself Thursday. Yes, this is Trust Yourself Thursday, and we're going in on the seven questions that can change our lives. I'm Dr. Derek Sweet. Welcome back to the sweet spot. What if the thing standing between you and your next level of confidence is one tiny imperfect attempt? Just taking your shot, giving it a try. And that's what this week is all about. Because when we ask the right questions, we find courage, we find clarity, and we can take that clarity and that courage and we can move it into confidence. On Monday, we located ourselves with the question. On Tuesday, we named what was blocking us or weighing us down. On yesterday, when it all Wednesday, we finally said out loud, what do I truly want? And today, our fourth question on Trust Yourself Thursday, the day where all that inner clarity begins to turn into movement, not just um perfect movement, but but a sort of a courageous movement, we're going to ask ourselves this question: What will I try next? You know, a few years ago, I had an idea I believed in, something I wanted to create. But every time I sat down to share it, I just froze up. I kept asking myself, what if people laughed at me? What if this thing wouldn't be good enough? What if I wasn't good enough? And then one night I finally typed a message to one of my friends, someone I really respected. My hands were a little shaky as I was doing it. And I read it like 12 times before I put it out there. I took a long breath and I sent it. I wish I could tell you something magical happened that night, but nothing did. There was no reply, there was no fireworks, the idea didn't even seem to land. It didn't seem like anything happened. But in retrospect, something did happen. You know what happened? I happened. I proved to myself that I could take a scared step and survive it, even if the response didn't come. And that tiny moment ended up changing more than anything else could have ever done for me. And that's what today is all about. Trust yourself Thursday. Trust yourself to take that step, to ask the question, to make the move, to take the action, to see yourself as a winner, to trust yourself and ask the central question. By now you're trying to say to me, hey doc, what's the question? What's the Thursday question? What will I try next? That's what today's question is all about. What will I try next? Not what will I master, not what will I guarantee that I'll be successful at, just what's the next small thing I'm willing to try? Because here's the truth: trust isn't something you think your way into, it's something you build through action. You've got to take the first step. And the ancient wisdom, as you know, we are about science, soul, and success here on the sweet spot. The ancient wisdom says this it's a classic for those of you who walk according to the word. Faith without works is, and I can hear you all out there saying, it's dead. That's correct. Faith has no power without action. Faith without works is dead. Belief and behavior have to hold hands. At some point, faith does need to take a step. Faith has to trust, it has to take action, it has to make a move, faith believes it's a winner. Will Smith put it in a way that hits every generation. God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear. I think the poet Rumi actually said it before him. That everything you want is on the other side of fear. What are you afraid of? What don't you trust yourself to do? Well, guess what? You don't have to take, you don't have to climb the whole staircase, as they say. Just take the first step. The question today, Trust Yourself Thursday, is what's the next small thing I'm willing to try? And here's the wild part. Your brain rewards you when you do things like that. Anytime you try something new, even something tiny and small, your dopamine system lights up. And dopamine isn't just the feel-good chemical. People always think that dopamine is about feeling good. Yes, it is, but it's also the confidence chemical. When your dopamine is flowing, you're more confident. It whispers to your brain, see, that wasn't so scary after all. And it kind of feels good. See, you're stronger than you think. See, you survived that. You see, trying, even if you don't nail it, literally rewires your brain for courage. It's neuroplasticity in action. So trust isn't just a thought, it's a practice. Every small little step you take, every little experiment you do, even if you don't get the outcome, is evidence that you are growing. Evidence that you are learning, evidence that you believe in you, evidence that you can take a step even with shaky knees, shaky hands, shaky heart. Evidence that you believe God is reading for you. And here's your check-in today. Finish this sentence. The thing I'm going to try next is, and then you make it simple. Just one little thing. Text a friend that you've been meaning to reconnect with. Spend five minutes on the project you've been putting off. Open the journal that's been collecting dust. Choose a different response the next time somebody bothers you or something like that. Just try, whatever your thing is. I don't know what your thing is. But what I do know is that if you ask yourself this question, what am I willing to try next? The thing I'm gonna try next, I guarantee you something will open up for you and it'll be powerful. Tomorrow? Tomorrow is finished Strong Friday. And we're going to face the next breakthrough question. What am I avoiding? Huh. See you then, beautiful souls. This is Dr. Derek Sweet. You're listening to The Sweet Spot. Love and blessings to you, this Trust Yourself Thursday. Believe in yourself. You've got this, and I'm with you. Take care of it.
