Welcome back, beautiful souls. I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad it's Wednesday. And not just any Wednesday, it is Win It All Wednesday here on the Sweet Spot, and we're doing it. We're in the middle of a seven-day series on the seven alignments. And this is episode three. Win It All Wednesdays align with your purpose. Walk in the direction that matters to you. Walk in the direction that matters to you. As you know, I'm Derek Sweet, I'm a board certified psychiatrist. I'm a performance strategist, and more importantly than that, I'm your fellow traveler this season. In this season of alignment. Yes, we feel that this week of all the weeks is the week to talk about alignment. Getting aligned. A word we don't hear too much in the day-to-day discussion. When was the last time that somebody said, I'm aligned. I feel really aligned today. We don't say it that much, but yet we should. Yeah, we've been grounding ourselves in the truth around alignment. We saw that on Making Moves Monday. Yesterday, Take Action Tuesday, we aligned with energy. We've restored our energy. So we grounded ourselves in Truth on Monday. We restored ourselves yesterday on Take Action Tuesday. I invite you to please listen to those if you can. Go back and listen. And now we're building on that. We're stepping into the alignment your future has been waiting for. Yes, purpose. Aligning with your purpose. Do you know how often people do not even remember what their purpose on this earth is? Or maybe haven't asked. Maybe you haven't asked yourself, what is your purpose? Why are you here? What do you what is it that you do? I gotta tell you something. I'm glad you're here. I'm super happy you're here. It's awesome that you're here. And I know that because you exist, someone else is very, very happy. Purpose. Aligning with purpose. Purpose isn't pressure, it isn't perfection, and it isn't direction. Purpose is none of those things. And on a day like today, a week like this week, one that feels like a natural reflective threshold, direction and purpose and alignment, they all become kind of important. And purpose really matters because purpose cuts through the noise. Purpose is what organizes our decisions. We make decisions based on our purpose, whether we're aware of it or not. And purpose is what gives our steps, what we do on a daily basis, its meaning. Author Jim Murphy, one of my favorite authors, I am OD on this man's book, Inner Excellence, right? So he writes that what we really want is to feel totally alive. And nothing makes you feel more alive than knowing your why, knowing your purpose, right? When you know your purpose and you're moving in your purpose, like I am right now. I am moving in my purpose to speak to you today on Win It All Wednesday to let you know you are a winner. And I believe in you. That's what I do. Yeah, what we really want is to feel totally alive, and I feel completely alive in speaking to you right now. Author David Hawkins, another author I really like, says this surrender what no longer serves you. Because to walk towards your purpose, you must release the paths that are pulling you away from it. I don't know about you, but I've had a lot of things pull me away from my purpose, or at least try to. And the world will compete with you, man. The world will be trying really hard to get you off your purpose to make you do whatever it thinks it wants you to do. You can't let that happen. Don't let it happen. Do not let the world distract you. Don't let anyone take you away from your purpose. Because when you're off your purpose, you're anxious. When you're off your purpose, you lose your focus, you lose your drive, your ambition. When you're off your purpose, you can't bounce back as much. Because purpose, believe it or not, in the science, and this is about science, soul, and success here on Sweet Spot, purpose is tied into your um peace of mind. Yeah, purpose reduces anxiety because when you are clear on something, it reduces the uncertainty about it and you feel biologically better, don't you? Once you have clarity, confusion, on the other hand, misalignment can create a lot of stress. Purpose can increase your motivation because when you have a direction, it activates your commitment. When you know where you're going or why you're going or what you're doing, it activates your commitment to keep going. So in that way, purpose can increase your motivation. Now, purpose can also enhance resilience, your ability to bounce back from things. Because once you have a purpose and you know what your purpose is, the meaning that it gives your situation strengthens your ability to recover when you understand your purpose. This is why I'm here, and this is what I do, and nothing is gonna stop me from getting it done. And if something sets me back, I'm not gonna lose my way because I know my purpose. Because they're stabilized by that purpose, so it's not a luxury purpose, it's a necessity for you and me to understand our purpose and to tie it in to the most high. The ancient wisdom puts it this way in the message Bible: in all your ways, keep the Lord in mind, He will show you the right path, He will lead you according to that purpose. That's in Proverbs 3, verse 6. In the King James, you know, they're more beautiful with everything. They're like, He shall direct thy paths. More King James, you know. The bottom line is that purpose is alignment with God's direction, not just your desire, but the deepest direction that God has for you. Why you were created, and when you get aligned with that, my friend, whoa, watch out. You can't be stopped. I know you already. I know you can't be stopped. I get it. So, here's the question for today. What direction is my life quietly asking me to walk towards? You know, sometimes when life is asking you to walk towards something, it's pretty quiet. More quiet than you think. It's usually quieter than you think and clearer than you realize. But you've got to sit still every now and then, take a deep breath, take one with me. In through the nose, that's it, that's it, and then slowly out through the mouth. This is alignment, this is biological alignment. Very good. When you take that deep breath and you ask yourself the question, what direction is my life quietly? Ask me to walk towards, and you get in tune with it, you become more focused. And I want you to name one area of your life where you're willing to walk in the direction that feels most meaningful to you, even if that path is narrow, small, and people are telling you don't go there, but it means something to you. Take a small step. This is the sweet spot. This is when it all wednesday. Tomorrow? Tomorrow we're going to align with who you're becoming. Yes, tomorrow is Trust Yourself Thursday, and we're going to align with your becoming, who you're evolving into as you pursue this purpose. Who are you? Oh man, I can't wait for that.
