SPEAKER_01I'd like to talk to you for a few minutes about simplicity. Simplicity is an extremely important concept. And if you master it, if you understand it, and if you flow with it, your life will change dramatically. What do I mean? I'm saying to you that life, as Confucius said, is fairly simple, but that we as human beings make it complex. We're the ones making it complex, with our thoughts, our ideas, our insistence that the world should be the way we see it. Often when we're stuck, it's because we have made something that's fairly simple, fairly cut and dry. We've made it complex. Think about that. Think about something you're trying to achieve that you find difficult, and you see after some research and some reflection that you may be complicating matters, that the answer may be extremely simple. Some action you have to take, some decision you have to make, some resolve that you should implement right now. How about taking one simple step today? Forward on something that's important to you, something that you've been trying to get done. Take that one step and take that simple step every day. Often progress and getting to the next level in life is about doing the routine, the simple things, keeping it simple. I think it was Thoreau who said this. He said that once we begin simplifying our lives, the laws of the universe become simpler. And solitude is no longer solitude. Poverty, no longer poverty. No weakness, weakness. Simplicity is the synthesis of wisdom and experience. Often the most complex things come out of the simplest things. A whole universe out of an atom. An oak tree out of an acorn. What can you simplify today? This is Dr. Sweet. I'll be with you next week.
