Speaker 1:

Greetings and welcome Welcome back. You're listening to the Sweet Spot. Today is Take Action Tuesday and we've been dealing with the power of appreciation. Turning appreciation into action is our theme today, and I'm Dr Sweet. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a board certified sports and performance psychiatrist. And here's something fascinating I've noticed, working with elite athletes, elite performers and top business leaders, that the difference between good and great is often what is in their minds, what they do with their insights. Whether you're performing on a global stage or working on personal growth, the same principle applies to all of us. That's why you're here and that's why this is your spot Today. On Take Action Tuesday, we're turning yesterday's powerful insights that we learned about on Making Moves Monday. We're turning those powerful insights about appreciation into real world action here on Take Action Tuesday.

Speaker 1:

Because appreciation, my friend, is not something you feel, it's something you do. Here's what fascinates me in my work with high performers we often think of appreciation as this quiet, passive thing, right, like a warm, fuzzy feeling we keep to ourselves. But the real magic it happens when we put appreciation into motion. Think about it. When you actively express appreciation, you're not just acknowledging good, you're creating it. You're not just acknowledging good, you're creating it. You're not just noticing excellence, you're multiplying it. And here's where it gets really interesting. Every time you turn appreciation into action, you're not just changing someone else's day, you're rewiring your own brain for positive action. There's actual science that shows that appreciation can rewire your brain Literally.

Speaker 1:

I saw this transform a whole team recently. Instead of their usual morning huddle focusing on targets and tasks, they started sharing one specific thing they appreciated about a teammate's work. The shift was incredible. Productivity didn't just rise with this team, it exploded. Why? Because people who feel genuinely appreciated don't just work harder, they work bolder.

Speaker 1:

So here's your action plan for today. I'll call it the AAA strategy. 1. Appreciate intentionality. I'll call it the triple A strategy. 1. Appreciate intentionality. Spot three specific things worth appreciating today Could it be in yourself, could it be in someone else or in your environment and just notice it Intentionally. Two act immediately. Turn one of those appreciations into immediate action by writing a note, making a call or having a conversation. And three amplify daily. Share one appreciation publicly, in a meeting, on your team, in a chat or with your family. This triple A strategy will amplify appreciation as an actual mental skill in your life.

Speaker 1:

Why does this matter? Why does this matter? Because action turns gratitude from a feeling into a force. I'll say it again Action, when you take action, it turns gratitude from a feeling into a force. And more than that, expressed appreciation creates ripple effects of excellence. I've seen it over and over again in teams active appreciation builds stronger teams and even more powerful relationships. Try it, try using appreciation with those around you and see how the bonds get stronger. And when you appreciate out loud, you literally inspire others to do the same.

Speaker 1:

You ever notice when you start hearing somebody saying hey, man, I really appreciate you for ABC. Guaranteed somebody else is going to appreciate you back. So yesterday we built the mindset on Making Moves Monday. Today we're creating the momentum on Take Action Tuesday. Remember, appreciation without action is just a nice thought, but appreciation in action, whoa, that's how you change games, that's how you shift the culture and, let me tell you, that's how you transform lives. So that's your Take Action Tuesday. Challenge man. Tomorrow we'll keep building, but for now, get out there and turn those appreciative thoughts you're having into appreciative actions.

Speaker 1:

This is Take Action Tuesday. We're going to go past thinking to action. So, hey, if you found value in today's episode. I'd love to stay connected.
