Hey, beautiful souls, welcome back to the sweet spot where science meets soul. So I'm Dr Derek Sweet. As you know, I'm a board certified sports and performance psychiatrist and the host of the Sweet Spot. I've been blessed all week to be sharing with you the power of using beautiful and pleasant words to stimulate our brains to secrete powerful neurotransmitters and our bodies to secrete powerful hormones that we've discussed already. Today we find ourselves in self-care Saturday, on the sweet spot, and, as ancient wisdom tells us, our bodies are sacred temples and that in stillness we find our true strength, and that caring for oneself is the foundation of all healing. These timeless truths remind us that self-care isn't a luxury, my friend. It is essential. It is essential to your greatness. So all week long we've been doing these poems about every day of the sweet spot, and today, in Self-Care Saturday, we're going to dedicate a poem, a poem that will help your brain feel alive and well and perhaps secrete some of the wonderful neurotransmitters that we've been discussing. So let me share today's nurturing poem with you.

Okay, beautiful soul, this is Self-Care Saturday and it's your moment of restoration, your time to fill and refill your cup, whether you're recovering from an intense training, a hard week, maybe you're just recharging from all those meetings and that running around you've been doing, or just reconnecting with the inner you, the inner champion inside of you. Remember, rest isn't just recovery, it's preparation for your next level, it's preparation for your greatness, and I want to encourage you on Self-Care Saturday that you can't give what you don't have, so it's really important to pour it back into you. Remember, as the poem said, saturday's peace fills your space as your power finds its amazing grace. So remember, when you care for yourself, you're strengthening your impact.
