SPEAKER_00:

Welcome back to the Sweet Spot. It's Trust Yourself Thursday here on The Sweet Spot, and you're listening to Dr. Derek Sweet. I am your fellow traveler on the journey we call life. So, it's Trust Yourself Thursday. And we have been resetting ourselves all week. Every day this week, we've been doing something to reset ourselves. On making moves Monday, we made the move. On taking action Tuesday, we took an action. We loved Win It All Wednesday because we reset our attitude and we aimed to be stronger in our identity as a winner. And that brings us squarely here to trust yourself Thursday as we continue on the resetting. And why re-resetting? Because life will set you up with all kinds of issues, and it's really important that you reset yourself every single day. Today's Thursday. And you know what that reset is for you? Trust yourself. That's right. Trust yourself. Trusting yourself isn't a decision, it's a recovery directive. It's a way to refresh your entire body, believe it or not. When you trust you, you refresh you. Because somewhere along the way, we have all lived through things that have depleted our trust in ourselves or our energy. Things that make us doubt whether we can really do this, whether we can really face this. Maybe somebody dismissed us, maybe we got blindsided by something. We second guessed ourselves somewhere along the way, and we learned to not always trust ourselves. And so sometimes it's important to reset. Just to reset and to tell yourself in the mirror this morning, hey, I trust you. Not only do I love you, I trust you. So this is not hype. This is about reconditioning your brain. And the ancient wisdom tells us where to put that trust. Remember, on the sweet spot, we talk about science, soul, and wisdom. Here's the soul part. In Proverbs 3, verse 5, it says, Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don't try to figure out everything on your own. That's in the message translation. It's way modern. Trust God from the bottom of your heart and stop trying to figure it out on your own. That's half the problem. And we're always doing it on our own. A big part of trusting yourself is beginning to walk with the one who loves you most. Walking with the most high, being still and knowing who the most high is and aligning yourself with the most high so that your decisions are coming from a divine place. Because when you get that, you recognize that greater is that which is in you, my friend, than anything that's in the world. Maya Angelo also dropped this on us. Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. That's not perfection, that's self-compassion. That's trusting who you are today is wiser than who you were yesterday. And every day you're gonna get better and better. How's that? I believe that. And guess what? The neuroscience proves it. Your prefrontal cortex, your ventromedial prefrontal cortex gets involved. The part of the brain that integrates your memory, your emotion, and your personal value. Trust me, it exists. Trust me, you have a prefrontal cortex. Trust me, you have a ventromedial prefrontal cortex. And trust me, it's listening. And trust me, when you start trusting yourself, it starts to get stronger, it starts to help you make better decisions, it helps you start to be more discerning, it listens to you. So it works best when you're not forcing the trust. But when you quiet the noise around you, you still yourself and you recognize that you have everything you need. And if you don't have it, you know somebody that can help you. That's why you listen to the sweet spot right now. It's gonna galvanize you, it's gonna get you going. That's what we do here. So today, trust isn't about bold leaps, it's about this. It's about letting yourself believe the thing you already know. Greater is that which is in you than anything in the world. It's not about fear, it's not about doubt, it's not about insecurity. Those things come up, but they don't last. That's the old stuff. The truth will set you free. And the truth is you have wisdom inside of you, you're amazing, and you're extraordinary. And if nobody told you, I'm telling you. If you never heard it, you're hearing it today on Trust Yourself Thursday. Alright, my friend. It's all about attitude, it's all about what you think, it's all about what you put into your prefrontal cortex, it's all about letting the amygdala, the threat center, calm down, it's all about having the right posture and setting the thing in motion that's important, which is starting with you. Alright. If this spoke to you today, share it with someone. Share it with someone who needs it, share it with someone who needs to understand, they've got to trust themselves more. And if you want to, join me tomorrow when we dive into another powerful reset on Finish Strong Friday. I can't wait! Love and blessings, and you keep trusting yourself.
