Your Daily Reset 7/7: Take a Moment to Remember This is the Only Moment That Really Matters.#SlowDownSunday
SCIENCE* SOUL * SUCCESS
Hey Suitespotters!!
Your week deserves a gentle landing, not a hard stop. We close a seven-day reset with a clear path from movement to stillness: how a single deep breath steadies your nervous system, why tiny steps unlock courage, and what it means to protect your rhythm so you can finish strong without burning out.
In this episode: I walk through each day’s anchor—Making Moves Monday, Take Action Tuesday, Win It All Wednesday, Trust Yourself Thursday, Finish Strong Friday, Self-Care Saturday...and tie them together with a Slowdown Sunday that invites balance instead of grind.
We start with breathing as biology, not buzzwords. A simple inhale and a longer exhale can cue the parasympathetic system, lower heart rate, and give your brain the safety signal it craves.
From there, motion creates clarity: act first, then understand. Small executions quiet worry because your brain learns by doing.
Aim at a defined win, feel your internal compass align, and let momentum carry you. By week’s end, rest steps forward as a form of strength—recalibrate, recover, and reclaim so your progress sticks.
Slowdown Sunday widens the view with ancient wisdom and science. Be still and know meets astrophysics: stars live in equilibrium, holding pressure and peace without collapse.
That’s the model for sustainable growth. Slowing down isn’t stopping; it’s how you remember who you are and gather the parts of you scattered by busyness. We offer practical practices—two minutes of breath, a short walk, a screen pause...and a simple affirmation to ground the day: I slow down so my soul can catch up.
If this reset helped you breathe easier and move smarter, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs a gentle nudge, and leave a quick review so more people can find their sweet spot.

Greetings and welcome. What a joy! What a joy it has been to go on this journey with you here on the sweet spot. I'm Dr. Derek Sweet, and we've been having a blast, haven't we? We've been having a blast as we reset ourselves all week long. Yes, here on the sweet spot, we took this entire week to reset ourselves. Every day was a day of resetting. We walked through the whole week together. And before we slow things down here on slowdown Sunday, I want to honor what you've carried and how you've shown up with me this week. So let's take a breath and gather one pearl from each day. Just the one truth that you can hold in your hand from each day as I review the day with you. Deep breath in, yes. Oh my goodness, and a deep breath out. For some of us, this is going to be the only deep breath we take. So I invite you to try it again. One deep breath in. Give yourself all the oxygen you need today so that your red blood cells, your hemoglobin, could be thankful and that you could distribute this to the entire body. Deep breath in with me. And then a long exhale out. That's right, and just in that moment, you've done a physiological reset. Athletes do this, performers do this, military folks do this. You and I need to do it too. On Monday of this week, the Making Moves Monday, we talked about motion creating clarity. That tiny step wasn't about your productivity, it was about waking up your courage. Take the step first, and then the clarity would come. Remember on Tuesday, Take Action Tuesday, we talked about small executions that give us these big shifts. Your brain learns through doing, not worrying. You worry, do something, even a tiny thing. It helps the brain settle down. Win it all Wednesday. We talked about how we aim for winning and how that creates power. You felt what happens when your internal compass lights up as a winner. It's a bit of an attitude. Thursday, well that was Trust Yourself Thursday. We learned that our truth is wiser than our fear. And we listened to that voice within. Friday, finish strong Friday. We realized that resting was also a part of winning. That was okay to rest, recalibrate, recover, and reclaim. All the R's were in Friday. You didn't have to push harder on Friday, you had to protect your rhythm. Remember that? Saturday, yesterday, self-care Saturday. We talked about that nervous system thanking us for letting it breathe, for softening up a little bit there. And now here we are on Slowdown Sunday, my friend. As you know, we always look at the ancient wisdom and look, uh, 46 10, Psalm 4610, the ancient wisdom said, put it this way, um, step out of the traffic. Take a long loving look at me, your high god. Step out of the traffic. This is a more modern translation. Take a long loving look at me, your high God. Those much more theologically oriented might know it as be still and know I'm God, right? So look, the universe joins with us with that same tone of stillness, of looking for something bigger, more divine. Astrophysics tells us that the stars, these massive engines of fire and force, spend most of their existence in equilibrium, in balance, not exploding, not collapsing, just holding their balance between pressure and peace. Haven't you been there? Holding your balance between pressure and peace, finding your equilibrium, just getting through it day to day. I see you. I know that's what you're doing. No, you know what that makes you? Similar to the stars. You are a star, my friend. The galaxies are drifting through space, they move with momentum inside of them, they have moments of quiet, moments of disruption, and you too are like the galaxies. Yeah, the universe reminds us that slowing down isn't stopping. It's about recalibrating, it's about remembering, it's about recovering the parts of you that are diffuse. It's recovery written into the fabric of creation itself. Everything around you is recovering at some level. Ah, recovery. Spend time today thinking about how do you recover. And if you don't know how to do that, start with your breathing like we did. Go for a walk, turn the TV off, put your phone down, take a minute or two just for you to catch up with you. Let silence be your medicine today, let stillness be your teacher, and let surrender be your reset. You know, for many of us, we did we we don't spend a moment of quiet with ourselves. We don't get still. We're always on the move. So, your affirmation for slow down Sunday today is this I slow down so my soul can catch up. Say it with me. I slow down so my soul can catch up. Once you do that, my friends, you will recalibrate and you reset. It's been a pleasure to go on this reset journey with you all week long here on the sweet spot. If you've enjoyed the series, please share it with someone you love, you care about, and who needs it. I am looking forward to next week to see what we have here at the sweet spot with you. And please love yourself, take care of yourself, and be kind and gentle to yourself. I'll see you for Making Moves Monday tomorrow.
