Greetings, greetings, and welcome, welcome back to the sweet spot, beautiful souls. You're listening to Making Moves Monday on this very special week here on the Sweet Spot. I'm your host, I'm Dr. Derek Sweet, as you know. I'm a board certified psychiatrist. I specialize in high performance, but more than that, I'm right here in the trenches with you. Learning, discovering, and aligning every day with you. We talk every single day here on the sweet spot. All year long, we've been talking. And today we're talking about alignment. We're stepping into a series called The Seven Alignments. The seven places your life comes back, comes back into rhythm. And today we're going to start with the most important one: truth. Not public truth, not the polished truth, not the truth you think you should feel. Your truth. What's real to you right now. And on a day like today, one of those days that naturally invites reflection, truth becomes a kind of compass, doesn't it? A gentle nudge that says, hey, start where you really are, not where you are pretending to be. You see, truth has to be the starting line for every transformation we want. That's why truth matters for alignment. If you don't name where you are, you can't direct where you're going. Truth, it clears the fog. Truth, it reduces the friction, it puts both feet on the ground. In his book Inner Excellence, author Jim Murphy says this: get out of your head and get into your heart and soul. Because truth doesn't live in performance, it lives in presence. Author David Hawkins puts it this way: We suffer most when we resist what is. Meaning that the truth doesn't hurt us, resisting it does. And this just it's not just emotional work we're talking about when we talk about aligning with the truth. Truth has biological effects as well. When we move in truth, we can lower our stress load. When we start pretending, our body has to stop bracing and contorting and being so tight as we live a lie. Truth can reduce your cognitive load, it can free your mind up, it can free the energy up in your mind that's being used to manage a lie or to live under a mask. Truth can improve your clarity, it can improve your decision making. You see, your attention can line up with reality instead of fantasy when you move in truth. Great, great benefits biologically from truth. You see, truth brings alignment because what truth does is it brings coherence, it makes you solidified. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. In the King James, it's more ancient in its languaging, but it's the same thing, ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. What does that mean to you? True when we when we talk about being true, it's freeing our breath, it's freeing our spirit, it's freeing us to take the next step. So ask yourself today, especially this week, what is true for me right now without any judgment, just what's true for you, and whatever comes up, let it be enough. And then I want you to write down one sentence that feels true today, just one. You don't need a paragraph, and you don't need to have a big plan. I just want you to focus on just one honest line of truth. Once you do that, you can type it into your phone if you want. That's alignment. That's how you begin to align once you put it on paper, once you can look at it. What is the one truth? What is true for me right now? Yeah, that's how you begin to align. You've got to live your truth. So much of the pain that we experience is because we're not in our truth, we're not lined up with our truth. So many of the difficulties and the obstacles that we're encountering are because we're not lined up, we're misaligned. Think of a car when it's misaligned. It's like driving with the brake and the gas at the same time. It's very difficult, if not impossible. So free yourself today. Wherever you need to face a truth, the time has come. The time has come. So, this is the sweet spot. It is making moves Monday. The move you're gonna make today is you're gonna line up with your truth. You're not gonna live a lie anymore. You're not gonna let that lie dominate your life. Tomorrow, on the sweet spot, we're going to step into another alignment. Today we aligned with our truth. We were courageous. We're gonna face our truth and align with it. Tomorrow, we're gonna step into aligning with our energy, finding our rhythm, finding our tempo, finding our right pace.
