SPEAKER_00:

Happy Saturday! Happy Saturday, my friend. How are you doing? How was your week? I hope you had a great week. And even if you didn't, you're here with me today on Self Care Saturday, and we're gonna get right into it and see what we can do to enjoy this wonderful day that we've been given. So, good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. I don't know what time you're listening to this, so I see all three to you. Sweet spotter, sweet one, sweet winner. You're listening to the sweet spot, your family to me, and I'm glad you're here with me today on Self Care Saturday. We've been in a series, haven't we? A great series on a crazy topic that came to me that really made sense later. You don't need a new you. Everybody's running around trying to be a new person. And it came to me that you don't always need to be a new you. So we've been in it. The series is built on a quiet truth that most people are afraid to say this thing out loud. We're not broken, we're just tired, we're overstimulated, we're disappointed, we're grieving, we're we're something, but we're not broken. We're not living into being broken. We're gonna declare ourselves whole and we're declaring ourselves healed. Even if we don't feel like it, we declare it, we speak it out loud. Because here this here at the sweet spot, we don't back down from challenges. We're very real. This is a conversation over a coffee table, the coffee table of life. Me and you, we're just talking like friends, people who are in the journey, on the hunt, trying to figure out how do we live the life we love? How do we not be riddled with anxiety? How do we get up with hope? How do we face another day? I am your fellow traveler on that journey, and I don't have all the answers, but guess what? Yesterday on Finish Strong Friday, we talked about this idea. You finish strong by protecting what's left, not by emptying the tank. Today, Self Care Saturday, we're gonna go a layer deeper. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. That's what we do here on the sweet spot. And self-care Saturday is all about rest. The title for this particular episode is this You don't need a new you, rest without guilt. Because rest is maintenance, not collapse. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. Rest is often misunderstood. Many people think rest is what you do after you're depleted, but the ancient wisdom offers a very different picture. In the KJV, the King James Version. I know all the classically trained Christians are happy. I started with the King James and didn't go to the Message Bible, but I'm going to the Message Bible right after this. In the KJV in Matthew 11, verse 28, it puts it this way Come on to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you what? Rest. And in the message Bible, my favorite. Are you tired, worn out, burned out on religion? Come to me, get away with me, and you recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Absolutely, absolutely. And that's what this is about. That's what this is about. This is all about you finding your rest. You are resting. You're resting because resting is about trust. Yeah. Resting is about returning to the truth that you have everything inside of you that you need. You don't need a new you. You've already been fearfully and wonderfully made. Absolutely. You don't collapse when you rest. You recover. You recover. So when you take this break and you allow yourself to breathe, you fix yourself by doing nothing. You accomplish everything by doing nothing. No instructions, no requirements, no fixing. You literally are just inviting yourself into the presence of the Most High and letting yourself be held for a moment. Sometimes it's not even just sitting down. It could be that you're doing something slowly on purpose. Maybe you're just gonna let a call go to voicemail without explaining why you did. Maybe it's about sitting in the quiet for two minutes longer than usual, or enjoying something without turning it into a productive activity. And that's it. And here's the pearl I want you to carry with you today. Rest is not what you do after you're depleted, not at all. Rest is what keeps you from becoming depleted in the first place. I'm gonna say that again. Rest is not what you do after you're depleted. Rest is what keeps you from becoming depleted in the first place. You don't need to justify it, you don't need to earn it, you don't need to feel guilty for receiving it. You deserve rest. So that's it for today, Self Care Saturday. You go take care of yourself today. Give yourself five minutes, take a deep breath, relax. Tomorrow is slowdown Sunday, and we're going to talk about why slowing down isn't falling behind. It's how things actually settle into place. If this moment gave you a little peace and a little bit of space today to breathe, please subscribe. It's free. I guarantee you, no hidden cost. And if you know someone who's been carrying too much for too long, share this episode with them. For now, my beautiful sweet winner, be gentle with yourself today. Take care of yourself today. And remember, you don't need a new you to take care of you. You can take care of you right now. Love and blessings. Let's build together. See you tomorrow. Sweet out.
